Hello World!

my first solder! It’s amazing how gratifying a simple “hello world” response can be when you’re new at something. Making that led (pin 13!) light up or that first print screen message really feels so good you just want to do it again and again. I feel like every time I write some new patch in SuperCollider, an environment I’ve come to be comfortable with, I still get that same rush when I’ve finally succeeded at debugging. I think that’s really what fuels all the following inquiries.
So I soldered my first joint today. No, I did not smoke it. What a rush, though! I really can’t wait to do it again. Now I’m thinking of building a little addition to my laptop stand that will house an extra cooling fan and a switch. Also this BBE unit I came upon for <$20 was definitely up for grabs because there’s a dirty connection in there… hmmm… Actually looking around this room there’s a fair number of things I could really play with and probably destroy in the process…
